I wrote The Bitter Brew, a short thriller mystery, and it was published by BriBooks at their Summer Book Writing Festival, an independent creative writing project. Writing it was a very different kind of experiment: instead of testing a hunch with water samples or bacteria, I was building a story one clue at a time, and trying to keep a reader guessing right until the end. Seeing my own book in a bookstore listing was one of my proudest moments, and it showed me that the same curiosity that drives me in science also drives me to tell stories.
